Wild & Furrow Oat Milk

From two farms to one exceptional oat milk

May 18, 2026

In a food industry dominated by long supply chains and heavy processing, Wild & Furrow are taking a different path. From their family farm in Leicestershire, they grow the oats, craft the recipe, and bottle the oat milk themselves, using Mellow Yellow cold‑pressed rapeseed oil from our farm. It’s a field‑to‑bottle approach that prioritises flavour, nutrition, and trust, earning them two stars at the 2025 Great Taste Awards.

At Wild & Furrow, quality really does start in the field. On their family farm in Leicestershire, Miles, Hannah & Angus grow the oats, shape the recipe, and bottle the oat milk themselves, exhibiting a rare level of care that runs from seed to shelf and mirrors exactly how we do things here at Mellow Yellow. This field‑to‑bottle way of working lets them focus on what matters: flavour, nutrition, and genuine provenance. It’s an approach that paid off in the 2025 Great Taste Awards, where their fresh oat drink earned two stars and became the highest‑rated oat milk in the UK.

A big part of that signature taste comes from the cold pressed rapeseed oil in their recipe. It brings that smooth, creamy texture that we love oat milk for, while keeping the natural character of the oil intact, with no harsh refining or shortcuts.

Mellow Yellow’s rapeseed is grown just a few miles from Wild & Furrow, so supplying the oil felt like a natural fit for both farms. When two producers share the same outlook: keep things simple, stay close to the land, use the best ingredients you can, the partnership doesn’t need much explaining. Together, they show what can happen when food is made with care, honesty and a genuine commitment to doing things properly.

Why fresh?

Wild & Furrow deliberately chose to make a fresh, chilled oat drink rather than a long‑life one. Ambient oat milks often rely on heavy processing to stretch out shelf life, but a fresh approach allows for a gentler method that protects the natural flavour of the oats. The result is a cleaner, rounder taste and a creamier texture, something Miles says customers notice immediately, especially in coffee.

By keeping production close to home and supply chains short, Wild & Furrow can prioritise quality over longevity, delivering an oat drink that tastes far closer to how it was meant to be enjoyed straight from the field.
